We have modified the IPPS MS-DRG Batch Calculator upload instruction files which affect how you prepare and upload data files for batch processing.
What’s changed:
Field Repositioning: The “Total Charge” field has been moved to the last column in all sample and instruction files, with updated labeling.
Branding and Styling: Instruction files feature improved formatting, consistent styling, and clearer grouping of related data fields.
Sample and empty batch files have been updated to reflect these instruction changes for a smoother upload experience.
What this means for you:
The updated instruction and sample files must be used for all future Batch Calculator uploads. These changes improve clarity, ensure proper processing, and help prevent upload issues caused by outdated formats.
You can find these files in the Coding and Payment Tools section, under the IPPS MS-DRG Grouper/Calculator page, in the Batch Calculator tab. They are located in the instructional box at the top of the page, where the links begin with “Click here to download…”
